Forest Essentials: Winner or a dud?

Image
When you slog at office and return home at 8pm, good skin is the last priority. Yet you crave for that great skin. Playing with the lil one, avoiding Instagram, creating lovely drawings together are my priorities. I try to bond with my sweetheart doll. I am not left with the energy to create those magical potions for my thirsty thirty’s skin. But now that I turned 35, I wanted to bring in some discipline in skin care and so came the idea of totally natural products, for a mile stone birthday. I visited Forest Essentials with a lot of dreams. A delicious smelling premises ushered me in n I was lost in Luxurious Ayurveda, potions, granny’s advises, sages wisdom and awesome aroma and more. Came out with pocket light but heavy on dreams. I Got Soundarya Radiance Day Cream with SPF 25 and 'Date and Litchi Eternal Youth Formula' and a Bhringraj Oil. I have used the products for over 3 months now and have a fair deflection towards their age serum of date and litchi. Dud : Sou...

Theres this undefined fire inside to live each moment with purpose..which makes each moment beautiful. Earthiness draws me like never before. I find weaves better than zara. I dig uralis and mitti ka diya.love ceramic pottery and deepika padukone's earthy accent better than priyanka chopras fake one. Love the mogra gajra n rajnigandha. Thats me. "Jot down 6 important things to be achieved on a given work day, basis priority and keep striking off what you achieve." Read this long time back in a book on women achievers, don't remember the Name of the wizard. It does make a lot of sense amidst piles of files, operational emergencies, baby calls and what not! This is keeping me from straying away from actual deliverables of the day! Hope you all are doing well and hope Friday evening comes rushing to you!

Weight Loss Arsenal

A quick update, life's good. Been busy but on the track. 1400 calories a day target. Got some new stuff for the battle ahead. Today's weigh in was 78.4 kg. So all in all loss of 4.6 kgs since last 3 months. Ordered a digital weighing machine from amazon.in ( btw amazing service and i loveeeee their packaging, the cardboard box are so useful later for storing knick knacks, important papers, making doll houses etc). So the challenge has started in the right earnest. On food front I discovered mungauri, a moong dal dumpling variant which is a gr8 option for vegetarians. As a vegan i get tired of the routine dal/ paneer and soya. These mungauris and badi come in chunk and have varied spices from mild to the full on atomb bomb types. Very savory and satisfying. U feel so much fuller after having these instead of the regular dal. Regularly having it in dinner. Cucumber and carrots breakfast was a good idea, since i see inches melting away. Stumbled upon Diane's blog , do c...

Is that me on the scale?

Managing stress and home and erratic work hours can sometimes spell disaster to your health. Enough was discussed on this blog on weight loss but this time problem at hand was more grim. Coming to Hyderabad spelt dooom to my exercise and gym and i gathered pounds. The climate forced me to gorge on rice, idli and i added no activity to the whole scenario and ended up more than i am used to being. At 6.30 pm my office boy would serve some mouth watering goodies n famished me would go weak in the knees. Before the word go, the veg roll, chips and juice were gone. I was so damn stressed for last 1 year, with the new work profile that i ignored the ever expanding waistline and the associated tiredness and pains. I frequently fell ill also. Until i looked at the pics of a recent vacation in hubby's camera and since then there has not been any looking back. 1. I am exersing 4 times a week and 2 days suryanamaskaar 2. I am constantly following websites on weightloss n fitness so that i ...

Mom n Baby- Downtime

Miss those days when summers meant endless holidays, train journeys to Lucknow and Allahabad to our relatives place, loads of badmashi and ice creams without care about piling weight on the tummy. Phew. Today living in metros with demanding work schedules i feel bad that my daughter is not able to all that we did since my mom was free enough to take us on summer breaks. So i tried squeezing in some time for short breaks n lil treats for my daughter who has started appreciating outdoors, nature and no strict routine days. We added a day to the weekend and headed to Bidar. Must visit for people who stay in Hyderabad. We drove down to the place which is around 140 kms from Hyderabad and loved our journey. Nesteled in the jungles of Karnataka its a great family weekend getaway. The cottages are well maintained, lake facing. You get good hygienic food and best of all no tvs are installed in the cottages. I suppose security can be beefed up coz the place is too remote. We did basket ...
