Treat them li'l ones right

I have a lil one who’s shortly going to turn 5. We went to this restaurant the other day, there was a couple sitting next to us..Both parents were high on their drinks, I could just listen to Shamit, finish your plate, Shamit pls don’t stand there, Shamit eat fast, Shamit pls dont crush my saree, Shamit behave…Ugh…I pitied poor Shamit who was hardly living like a kiddo his age should! There were way too many instructions for his age... So just thot of sharing little pointers for helping your children grow smart, happy and confident: 1. Don’t mother them too much…let them explore life( while keeping them safe)! Let them dirty their hands in the mud, let her wear that faided house skirt to an outing if she really wants. It helps them develop confidence and self esteem! Here i am not saying to let them roam around without guardian outside the house, i say that while you keep these lil ones under ur watchful eyes let them do things on their own in their own way..give them freedom of c...

Healthy from within -II

Ok…last week was chaotic, busy and stressful. But inspite of all the chaos and mess around me I managed to do my 30 minute walk. Now this is not gym I am talking about. This is a meandering walk through the open environs and fresh air. The fellow joggers change everyday, the vibe, the air and the tranquility does not. In crowded cities too, if you look around, you happen to find small pockets of greens, areas full of trees and fresh air. This area in my neighbourhood is not an ideal walk track but its sorta nice. This road is purgative and its forgiving to me and my soul. It provides me the vent I need, the fitness I crave and the focus I desire! Last few years spent at Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow, i could somehow always find such amazing sorroundings somewhere lurking around. I am slowly building my pace and my stamina. I am able to manage myself n my stress better n thus the family stays happier! I am eating ok…Partial binges of motichoor laddu brought by my loving papa for Dussehra ...

Healthy from within

Confession time ladies...I have been eating unhealthy and piling on weight like crazy. At Hyderabad Office, my work hours are erratic, targets stupendous and food, well food...lets not even talk of that...So while i get myself back to the gym and fitness. This time around i thought to do it more holistically and slowly...Baby steps u see...since dont want to fall off the regime. Healthy from within will showcase on a weekly basis what li'l smart changes i have made in my daily life to feel healthier and fitter! This week for finding fitness within madness i did this: 1- No leftovers to be consumed, no last nights fridge descended pizza. 2- Relaxed meals...sitdown n without smart phone within reach...MINDFUL EATING 3- Buttermilk twice a day for 11am, 4pm hunger pangs. 4- Goodbye tea/ coffee....i realised that while meeting up with clients and stakeholders i ended up gulping 7-8 cups daily...not to mention the increased numbers during month end, quarter end and crazy review me...

Diet or exercise?

We hear so many crash diets...sm do proteins at night...some follow atkins, gm diet..list is endless...Some diets work, some dont..All I want us working moms to remember is diets are not as important as the exerise part is. Coz to b frank, working moms should'nt do fad diets, we want energy n strength to last us the whole day n more! Though fats r best avoided. Pls take out lil time from ur busy schedules, from 20 minutes to an hour of physical activity.., You may want to work out 20 mins on weekdays but on weekend why not make it 40 mins...balance is the key., n consistency! Pls buy yourselves some flattering gym wear, good shoes n yu r set.,. For me good music is the only carrot....carry my headphones to gym A good playlist ensures happy fun work out. So what is stopping y'all. Dont you want those inches melting away?
