Ultimate gadget for the working mom

Image
I longed for this epilator since i was in school n was about to start my swimming classes. We could not afford it then n over the years i forgot about it. Until i found a lady on a beauty blog talk about it. My childhood dream was rekindled and i immediately ordered one from flipkart. This is byfar the best life saver gadget for the working mom, of course after the mobile..which is no more a gadget but a part of you..Ultimate saviour for women like me who are on the go. M sure a lot of women out there struggle to find time for their regular waxing etc while handling demanding jobs, kids, spouse, home management. Therefore for this segment Silk-epil is a boon. No parlour visits, no hygiene issues to bother about. You can do your waxing at your leisure n convenience. Its a necessity for working moms n a complete miracle product. I am not reviewing this product coz I am sure umpteen would be available online. Find one that catches your fancy and budget n stay groomed. Its as good a...

The skills we cant do without

By far the best skill as a working mom I have developed and still working upon is being adjusting and flexible. Years of working in corporate taught how change management and survival is so important wherever you go. As a mom you have to learn to adjust everyday to new callings of your child and be flexible at the same time. This skill helps raise your children and listen to their point of view n budge from ur own notions of right n wrong. It helps adjust in new terrain, new cultures and new working environments. As a kid we traversed the country owing to dad being in a transferable job. I learnt of different cultures, cuisine, new friends every 3 years, new weather and new homes to boot. Yet the old stayed in our memory and life. The confluence of old and new kept happening and we became ones who had a rounded view on life. Here I dont deny that we truly missed being stationed at one place like so many of our cousins did. Yet, this moving around helped me in becoming who I am ...

Why mundane routines are so good

I was thrown off balance with the flu last week. Was bed ridden n was unable to do those little mundane things that i always thought were a burden! Packing lunch boxes, driving to run errands, my packed schedule at work, site visits, buying grocery etc etc. We really dont value what these everyday trivial activities do to us, and we dont realise how lucky we are to be able to carry on with our so called routines. They actually nourish us, bring in stability of the known. These little routine mundane activities bring in a certainity on what to expect! So ladies, whatever hardship u are facing, carry on with more tenacity. Even if stuck in traffic, thank god that you are able to drive. In a packed bus, relish that you are able to commute. Enjoy those late nights which you spent working on a presentation. Cherish the mundane.

Post work destress at home

Image
When i rush home after a long day, my mind is whirling on dinner menu, spending time with li'l one, maid issues, health of ageing parents, clothes for next day, homework, ppts...phew..! I am sure most women face these moments..But ladies, when u are in the long haul u cant let yourself wither away like that. Create magic at home, destress amidst all the chaos around u. You will find peace and calm i am sure. You will be rejuvenated and ready for the next day. Here's how I try to find my peace n sanity after a long long day 10 mins on your own in a secluded space like balcony or terrace, or even a quiet corner at home with deep breathing Bonding with family, just connecting and catching up on day...before plunging into any work Avoid tv Light aroma candles, i light camphor n dhoop..sometimes camphor and some candles on top Light diyas across home Foot massage before bed Listen Soft music or chants Sometimes watering plants helps unwind after a busy day I do su...
